Big Sky already reuses treated water for irrigation and snowmaking. The next step is expanding and strengthening that system to support future needs while making the most of our water resources.
A Beneficial Reuse Master Plan will guide how we store, move, and reuse water more effectively — helping ensure reliable service while protecting the Gallatin River and our local aquifer.

Supporting growth, expanded snowmaking, and future fire protection and mitigation efforts
Building system redundancy to ensure reliable operations year after year
Improving storage and distribution to better manage seasonal demand
Protecting water resources by maximizing reuse and reducing discharge impacts
